FUN DAY - Saturday, 23 September 2017
This was the third time that ARPO and the Extinguished Firefighters had got together for a light-hearted fun competition. Twelve ARPO members (including two guests) turned up to play either Pool, Snooker, Darts or Dominoes and the Extinguished Firefighters very ably organised the heats and took charge of who should play next!
As on previous occasions, the knock-out heats were taken in good spirit with some members shocked to find they had got through to the next round! The final result was a resounding win (3:1) for the Firefighters in Snooker, Pool, and Dominoes but with congratulations to ARPO member William Hill who won the Darts challenge and for which he won a pewter tankard!
A Football Scratch Card for €25 was won by ARPO member David Holdaway. The amount raised from the Raffle, to be donated to charity, was in the region of €170.
David Graham gave a vote of thanks to all the participants, to Quesada Fish & Chips for providing the lunch and to the staff behind the bar who served us with a smile! ARPO Chairman, Keith Giles, returned a vote of thanks to the Extinguished Firefighters for hosting the event.
